Hoboken Huddle Super Bowl XLVIII Party at Pier A

by Lauren Scrudato

The City of Hoboken has just unveiled its plan to host an outdoor party, dubbed the Hoboken Huddle, at Pier A during Super Bowl XLVIII week which runs from January 27th – February 2nd.

The picturesque location, which overlooks the Manhattan skyline, will make an even bigger statement with the construction of the iconic Super Bowl roman numerals that will stand 16 feet tall against the cityscape.

“It really will be an opportunity for Super Bowl fans to come and take an iconic photo and complete their Super Bowl experience,” Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer told News 12.

Twelve individuals or local businesses can have their name engraved on one of the letters for $5,000 or $7,500, respectively, and as a thank you from the City of Hoboken their name will be entered in a drawing to win a pair of tickets to the big game.

Hoboken locals jump-started the plan for the Hoboken Huddle at Pier A and now the city is looking for sponsors to fund activities, such as creating an ice skating rink. One activity already in the works includes three lanes of ice that will be designated to play the Olympic sport of curling. The lanes will be available to the public free of charge for the whole month of February.

The Hoboken Huddle will be the tailgating experience you aren’t allowed to have at Metlife parking lot with food, entertainment, activities…and a better view.
