Jersey City New Year’s Roundup

by Lauren Scrudato

Last week we covered some of the best New Year’s Eve specials in Hoboken, and this week we’re taking care of Jersey City. Here’s a list of places to celebrate your Jersey City New Year's:

Iron Monkey: The party won’t stop until 4 a.m. at Iron Monkey. Get your $65 ticket for an open bar from 8:30pm to 11:30pm and don’t worry about a cover. There will be a special New Year’s menu from 11 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and then a bar menu from midnight until 2 a.m. Expect to see some special guest DJs as well!

Light Horse Tavern: If you’re looking for a romantic atmosphere to enjoy a meal for New Year’s, go to Light Horse Tavern for its $55 3-course dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. and hear piano music while you dine. A 4-course tasting menu will kick off at 10 p.m. with live jazz and a vocalist for $95.

LITM: Hear music from longtime LITM DJ Hells yeah and pay no cover! They will be open until 3 a.m.

The Merchant: Order some munchies from the a la carte menu from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. or get the open bar package from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. for just $45 per person. Your hands will be full of passed apps, party favors and champagne for the toast at midnight

Park and Sixth Gastro Pub: To celebrate its first New Year’s, the gastro pub is hosting a southern-inspired 8-course tasting menu with dishes like Louisiana chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, fried chicken and waffles with rosemary maple syrup, and mini pimento mac-n-cheese. In addition to dinner, you’ll receive access to an open bar from 9 to 11 p.m. for your $75 reservation.

Powerhouse Lounge: Stroll in after midnight and you’ll get in for free. Like Iron Monkey, Powerhouse will have a live DJ until 4 a.m. Advanced tickets for open bar and unlimited food cost $75, while paying at the door will be $100.

O’Hara’s Downtown: For $75, you get a 3 hour top shelf open bar from 9 p.m. until the ball drops (this includes a champagne toast and noise makers). Park for free, pay no cover and expect tons of drink and food specials all night. DJ Billy Higgins will be spinning Top 40 pop & club hits.

Orale: Orale has plenty of options for you to chose from. They’re offering a 3-course dinner and an open bar for $65, or each deal is also offered separately for $35 each. If neither of these strikes your interest, they will also have everything a la carte for you to pick at. DJ Sully will keep the place lively. Make sure to grab a shot at midnight to bring in the New Year!

Zeppelin Hall: To round out the Jersey City New Year’s list, Zeppelin Hall is welcoming guests to celebrate with no cover, and dance to the DJ all night long. You’ll get complimentary noise makers to help you countdown to midnight.
