Established over 20 years ago and with experience in both the restaurant and catering business, The Hoboken Gourmet Company makes fresh, quality food that serves the public and corporate accounts. Their specialities are all made on premises daily, and they offer catering for weddings, parties, and meetings. They also have a storefront in Hoboken right on Washington Street where they are known for their brunch, serving warm baked goods and a variety of egg dishes. You can even make a reservation for their weekly Chef’s Table dinner, where Chef Rob creates a unique four course menu around a specific theme or seasonal ingredient.
For this week’s Digest Lunch Box, The Hoboken Gourmet Company brought us some of their sandwiches, wraps, and salads. We tried the poached pear, candied pecan and grilled endive salad and also the Garden Salad which had cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, carrots and radishes. We had their wraps filled with breaded chicken and their turkey sandwiches stuffed with arugula, dried cranberries and apples. A hit amongst all were the steak sandwiches layered with tomatoes, onions and cheese and also the grilled chicken sandwiches with mozzarella and roasted red peppers. We also got to taste one of their desserts (my favorite part), fresh baked oreo cheesecake cookies.
